Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Paralegal to assist and meet the needs and provide assistance in the Family Team.
The role:
To support the Family fee earners in the effective management of their workload, ensuring the priorities of the department are met.
• Audio typing/copy typing
• Using Case Management System and all Microsoft programmes
• Create trial bundles for court
• Preparing legal documentation
• Maintain and organise electronic case files
• Track billable hours
• Preparation of Invoices
• Diary managements including booking meeting rooms
• Assistance with financial management of fee earner’s caseload
• Liaising with clients and solicitors face to face or by telephone
• E-mail, Scanning, copying and faxing
• Ensuring all client details are kept up to date
• Ensuring key dates are met
• Opening/closing/storage and retrieval of files in accordance with procedures
• Checking post and dealing with matters arising when required
• Legal research
Requirements:
• An understanding of Family procedures to include filling in legal forms
• Fully understand and manage a file’s compliance and adhere to the strict policies and procedures
• Ability to work independently, as well as in conjunction with the rest of the department
• Demonstrates persistence and commitment to completing tasks and objectives
• Delivers output to a high standard
• Excellent telephone manner
• Multi-task in a busy environment
• Ability to prioritise
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word to include Track changes
• Fully utilise the firm’s case management system
• Outstanding organisational skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication, ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels
